Creating unexpected visual narratives
Hello!
I’m Celia — a photographer and mixed media artist in Arlington, VA.
Whether I’m layering two photographs or cutting and pasting analog collages, my goal is to create unexpected visual narrratives.
My practice involves blending shapes, textures and shadows to create thought-provoking or whimsical perspectives on often-familiar subjects. I hope to spark your curiosity.
My favorite themes combine the beauty of the natural world, the rich textures of wellworn buildings or objects, and the bright colors and architectural elements of local landmarks.
My professional career includes photography, writing and graphic design. I’m a member of the Arlington Artists Alliance and the McLean Art Society. My work is exhibited at the Van Landingham Gallery in the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA and Current Reflections Gallery on the Virginia Eastern Shore.
